Catalina Island: Ghost Trap.

In the summer it's a tourist trap.

In the off season it's a ghost town.

Ghosts are trapped there.

Bored with all beauty.

Los Angeles on the horizon,

Hiding like a squid squirting and fleeing it's own ecological conscience.

I learned to fly-fish here with my father, and caught my first fish on a fly - it was a mackerel I hooked through the eye.

Two observances: "His eyes were bigger than his stomach," then, "Yeah, he didn't bite, he was just eyeing it."
