This custom bumper sticker refers to the morbid pachydermal diorama on display 24/7 at the La Brea Tarpits.
In Spanish, "la brea" means "the tar," so saying "The La Brea Tarpits" is like saying "The The Tar Tarpits."
I will miss explaining this to people, now that I don't own that car anymore.
